Hi there, Let's talk about ChatGPT Projects—because people are always asking me about them. We organize our work in folders. Always have. Always will (mostly). It's how our brains work. So when ChatGPT introduced Projects, we all thought: Finally, folders for my messy chat history! And I know, Projects are handy for tidying up. But that's not really their purpose. Here's the FAQ.. Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat's a ChatGPT Project? A workspace where you organize chats and files around one topic. You can add custom instructions. Keep it private, or share it (Business/Enterprise plans only). How is it different from a Custom GPT? Projects organize your work. Custom GPTs standardize your AI's behaviour. Can I put a chat from a Custom GPT in a Project? Nope. Custom GPTs can't be used inside Projects; OpenAI confirmed this is a current limitation. Maybe someday! I don't have an account. Can I use Projects? No, you must be logged in. I don't have a paid account. Can I use Projects? Yes, if you're logged in. Do my Project instructions override my global custom instructions? Yes. What does my Project 'remember'? By default? Nothing. But turn on 'project-only memory' in settings and your Project will remember past chats within that Project only but not your global ChatGPT history. Key Takeaways1.
